IVAN Research Institute is a specialized research and research-administration institute affiliated with the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), operating at the intersection of research translation and implementation science. Working alongside the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH) and the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, the institute coordinates a growing network of five research centers, doctoral training, and sponsored-project administration that together move evidence from the bench to public health policy across Nigeria and beyond.
Every student and researcher at the institute is embedded within an active, funded research study from day one, working alongside supervisors with international research portfolios.

The institute's coordinating unit, the Center for Translation and Implementation Research (CTAIR), was established in 2018 to strengthen implementation science capacity across Nigeria. In 2015, CTAIR launched the Nigeria Implementation Science Alliance (NISA) conference, now an annual fixture connecting researchers, policymakers, and practitioners nationwide.
Since then, the institute has grown into five specialized research centers — CSI, NCEBP, SOAR, CBSR, and CTAIR — and now hosts a PhD in Embedded Implementation Science run in partnership with the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, alongside the Office of Research and Sponsored Projects Administration (ORSPA), which supports researchers institute-wide from proposal to project close-out.
